Beer and Cheese :-)

Called in at the Mark Addy on my way back through Manchester this evening. Had a cheeseboard and a couple of pints.  Perfect.

What, no beer ?

I went to Hatfield house on Sunday for the Folk by the Oak, 1 day festival.
This is the oak I presume...

A great venue and a great line up.  I checked out the beer tent which was a great setup from Tring brewery, except...

Where's the beer ? I counted fourteen casks, and could see two more out the back. I can't help it but, I've done quite a few beer festivals and beer tents and it seems to come second nature, there is not enough beer there.

"We've got plenty of beer" from the bar staff.  Only four people servig meant there was a queue half way accross the festival site, and, sure enough, they ran out of beer just a couple of hours into the music.

The music started with Tyde - a young band who have a fantastic sound punching way above their weight.

A great afternoon in the sun with Bella Hardy, The Bad Shepherds, Kris Drevers fantastic voice with Heidi Talbot, Show of hands and Seth Lakeman.

I've been busy (again)

Still stuck down south working, so I haven't been able to get to the boat :(

I went to the Lane-Dankworth centre near Milton Keynes to see 10cc.  It is billed as Graham Gouldman and Friends and, like when I saw them in Manchester, the first half is Graham playing a lot of the songs he wrote for other people, and then the second half is all 10cc.
Fantastic again, and they played the best 10cc track "Feel the benefit" again.  This band just gets better and better. 1000cc.
I don't know why but I was not allowed to take any photos.  I am getting pissed off with venues that have this policy - especially when I've just spent £35.00 on a ticket.  At least the beer was good, and only £2.80 a pint.

I went to Tonbridge to Judge the Beer of South of England.  I've never been to Tonbridge before, so check in the hotel and lets find a pub.  The town centre pubs were awful so I ended up in the spoons, where I bumped into Mr Murphy, so we had to have a couple of beers.

The following morning I wandered down the river by the castle.

Very picturesque.

I found the Rugby club where the festival was being held in a really posh marquee with chandaliers and everything!

Just opposite I found the Tonbridge model railway club was held in an old Railway wagon!
