Flooring!

Finally back on the boat.  I cut all the marine ply to size for the floor panels, and treated them all with preservative.  I had already decided that I would have a wetroom, rather than a shower cubicle.  Now I had to decide on how to do it!
I will have a tiled floor, and use plastic panels for the walls. The floor can be made from marine ply, but it has to be sturdy enough not to move at all.  This will (hopefully) stop the tiles from lifting.

I planed some 2x2 battens down to provide a 1" slope, and discovered just what a mess you can make with an electric plane!

A 1" slope is more than you would normally have in a shower, but the boat might not be level, so the extra slope should mean the shower will drain anyway.

It started going dark, so I packed up, home and changed, and down to Bury Met to see the Silver Dogs.

They were in the downstairs, smaller theatre at the Met, which I find much better as it has more of an informal atmosphere.  The guy on the sound desk was playing some fantastic music while we were waiting for the band, a bit of King Crimson, some quite obscure Blue Oyster Cult, Genesis, and a bit of the Outlaws i think.

The Silver Dogs came on, and what a fantastic band!

They did quite traditional songs, but played them in their own style.  Quite a few Sandy Denny Songs.  "Crazy Man Michael" was quite unexpected and superb, and "Reynardine" was awesome.  This band seem to be what Fairport Convention have been trying to become for the last few years.

An extra day off because of some wedding or other, and the sun was shining, so Lady P and me decided to have an hour or two break by doing my front garden.

Before

and after.
